Are your courses Certified?

Yes. OrangeLife is an ACI-accredited paragliding school, following internationally recognised training and safety standards aligned with FAI and IPPI frameworks. Our courses are designed to take pilots through a structured progression of skills, knowledge and flying experience, with eligible students able to work towards IPPI pilot ratings through the applicable certification pathway.

What kind of certification is provided?

We facilitate the Indian National Paragliding Licence issued by the Aero Club of India (ACI), with an FAI IPPI rating on the licence.ACI membership and licence fees are payable separately: ₹4,200 + ₹2,950.

Does the course fee include the stay and transport?

The course fee includes paragliding training and use of all necessary training equipment.Food, accommodation, and transportation from the base to the flying site are available at an additional ₹1,200 per person per day, covering all three services.

How fit do I need to be to learn?

Accepted Answer

You don’t need to be exceptionally fit to learn to paraglide. A reasonable level of general fitness, good coordination, and an alert, sensible approach are important.You should be comfortable with short runs of around 10–20 metres during take-off and landing, and be able to walk uphill carrying approximately 10–15 kg of equipment when required.There is no specific medical examination required to learn paragliding. However, if you have a medical condition such as epilepsy, frequent dizziness, a heart condition, osteoporosis, or diabetes, we recommend consulting your doctor before participating.If you’re generally active and comfortable walking, carrying a moderate load, and doing short runs, you should be well suited to learning to paraglide.

What age do you need to be to learn paragliding?

Paragliding training is generally available to students 14 years and above. Students under 18 must have parental or guardian consent to participate.We may also accept younger students in exceptional cases, depending on their physical ability, maturity, coordination, and overall suitability for the activity. We have safely introduced students as young as 10 years old to paragliding under appropriate supervision.

How do I reach Kamshet?

Kamshet is conveniently located just 45 km from Pune and around 110 km from Mumbai, making it an easy getaway from either city. The most convenient way to reach us is by private car or cab, with a scenic drive taking just a few hours.Kamshet also has its own railway station, well connected on the Pune–Lonavala railway route, making it easily accessible by train as well.

How many flights do I get during P1+P2 course?

A minimum of 10 flights is required to complete the practical training component of the P1+P2 course. The actual number of flights may vary depending on weather conditions and the student’s individual progress.

How many flights do I get during P3 course?

Accepted Answer

The P3 course requires a minimum of 5 flights to complete the practical training component. Unlike P1+P2, where the focus is primarily on building flight experience through multiple flights, P3 focuses on longer, more controlled flights and developing your ability to make the most of airtime.The actual number and duration of flights may vary depending on weather conditions and the pilot’s individual progress.

What if I do not get the required number of flights?

Paragliding is dependent on the weather conditions . Anyway, in the very unlikely event that you cannot fly because of bad weather, we will give you credit towards another course or tour in the future. If some tasks of a course are not completed, because of bad weather, it is possible to complete on a different day, until qualification. If a minimum of 3 days flying is not achieved, we will time credit up to a maximum of 3 days, to be taken to the school within 6 months of course commencement.

Can I do P1+P2+P3 together?

Yes. In fact it is preferred that you do the courses together as this gives you continuance and gives you the confidence to become an independent pilot fast.

Do I need Insurance?

Yes high risk covered medical insurance is recommended. Insurance is available from various insurance companies.

What happens when I complete my course?

Accepted Answer

After successfully completing the P3 assessment, you qualify as an independent P3 pilot. You can then continue your flying journey independently, subject to site rules, weather conditions, and applicable flying regulations.To fly independently, you will need your own paragliding equipment. Our team can also guide you on choosing the right equipment and help you progress further as a pilot.

What is the Student-Instructor Ratio?

At OrangeLife, we believe in building independent, confident, and thinking pilots from day one. That starts with personalised training and close instructor supervision.We keep our batches intentionally small, with a maximum of 6 students per batch and 2–3 instructors, ensuring every student receives individual attention, guidance, and feedback throughout their training.

What about non-flying partner?

All are welcome. OrangeLife base is a beautiful place to stay. There is a beautiful lake and a wide variety of birds for all those who love birding. We can organize tandem flights to non-flyers. Everything is chargeable.

What if the weather is not suitable for flying?

While we always hope for perfect flying conditions, weather can sometimes prevent us from taking to the skies. Don’t worry — there’s plenty to explore and enjoy around Kamshet!Hiking: Explore the nearby Buddhist caves and surrounding trails.Trekking: Discover scenic trails through forests and hills, with beautiful landscapes and opportunities to spot local wildlife.Mountain Biking: Explore the surrounding trails by mountain bike, subject to availability.Canoeing: Enjoy a peaceful canoe ride on the nearby lakes, subject to availability.Lake Swimming: Take a refreshing dip and enjoy swimming in the nearby lake when conditions are suitable.There’s always something to do when you’re not flying — make the most of your time in the mountains!

What do I need to pack?

We recommend packing for both flying and outdoor activities, as conditions can change throughout the day. Please bring:Warm, comfortable clothing and a jacket — it can get cold at the top of the mountain.Walking shoes or boots with good ankle support.Long pants to protect your legs during ground handling.Sun hat, sunscreen and sunglasses.Cotton hand gloves and a long-sleeved T-shirt, especially for beginners during ground-handling sessions.Sandals or slippers for use around the accommodation.Swimming costume, if you’d like to use the swimming facilities.Towel and personal toiletries.Any personal medication you may need.A reusable water bottle. We provide filtered drinking water, so you can refill your bottle and help us reduce single-use plastic.Pack light, but make sure you’re prepared for sun, wind, cooler temperatures and outdoor activity.

Am I too old to learn to paraglide?

Paragliding is not determined by age alone. What matters more is your overall fitness, health, coordination, eyesight, and ability to make calm and sensible decisions while flying.You should be reasonably active and able to run for approximately 10–20 metres during take-off and landing and, when required, walk uphill carrying around 10–15 kg of paragliding equipment.Good eyesight is also important for identifying obstacles, judging height and distance, and making a safe approach for landing. If you have any medical condition or physical limitation that may affect your ability to fly, we recommend discussing it with your doctor and our instructors before starting training.Paragliding can be more accessible than you might think. We have successfully trained students over 60 years old, as well as students with significant physical disabilities, demonstrating that age or physical limitations do not automatically prevent someone from learning to fly. Each student is assessed individually based on their abilities and suitability for training.
